THE WAGYU PROPHECY

Many eons ago, an ancient prophecy declared that Ribs and Burgers would one day produce the finest beef burger in the entire world. And whilst the burgers on our menus to date have been firm favourites for families and meat-lovers across Australia for years, our chefs have refused to rest on their laurels. Convinced that the prophecy is not yet complete, they’ve been tirelessly searching for ‘the one’ to complete the dynasty.

They’ve looked high and low for that extra special burger to fulfil the prophecy. They’ve climbed mountains in Nepal, searched canyons in Africa, fought Bulls in Spain, herded cattle in Texas, braved the Mongolian wilderness and trekked through the wild and dangerous forests of Japan, all in search of ‘the chosen one‘. That one burger to end all burgers.

And finally, after years of searching, our chefs can take a well-earned break. The finest burger in the world has been discovered. The Ribs and Burgers dynasty is now complete with our new range of delicious Wagyu beef burgers.

What is Wagyu Beef?

Wagyu beef originates from Japan and is widely regarded as one of the most sought-after types of beef in the world. The name Wagyu literally means “Japanese Beef” (wa = Japanese, gyu = beef). It can be found in four different types of Japanese cattle (Brown, Black, Polled or Shorthorn).

Wagyu beef is unique because it is highly marbled. This means that the muscle is mixed with monounsaturated fat, which is what gives Wagyu beef its trademark moist and tender texture.
